Picadillo (Seasoned ground beef)
1 pounds ground beef (80/20)
1 onion, diced
1 small green pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil for sautéing
1 14 oz. can diced tomatoes
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 cup green olives, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon of my Adobo mix
- In a large pan, sauté the onion, green pepper and garlic in the olive oil. Sauté until onions are translucent, until the onion is softened, add ground beef.
- Add all other ingredients except the olives. Reduce heat to low, simmer for about 15 minutes
- Add olives and and simmer another 5 minutes.
Serve with white rice and frijoles negro (black bean soup).
