Picadillo  (Seasoned ground beef)

Serves 4


1 pounds ground beef (80/20)

1 onion, diced

1 small green pepper, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil for sautéing

1 14 oz. can diced tomatoes

1 8 oz. can tomato sauce

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon oregano

1/4 cup green olives, chopped

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon of my Adobo mix

  1. In a large pan, sauté the onion, green pepper and garlic in the olive oil. Sauté until onions are translucent, until the onion is softened, add ground beef.
  2. Add all other ingredients except the olives. Reduce heat to low, simmer for about 15 minutes
  3. Add olives and and simmer another 5 minutes.

Serve with white rice and frijoles negro (black bean soup).
