1 Loaf of Cuban Bread (16 inch loaf)
4 Thinly slice top round beef steaks
1 Spanish onion
1 clove of garlic finely chopped
1 tablespoon of my adobo mix
1 cup of lettuce shredded (optional)
1 tomato thinly sliced (optional)
3 teaspoons of olive oil
1 1/2 cups of potato sticks
- Pound the steaks so that they are very thin and place in a bowl with the juice of one lemon and the garlic. Let marinade for at least an hour.
- In a frying pan add the olive oil and sauté the onions, add the salt and pepper. Once translucent add the steaks and fry to medium (only about a minute or two) Cover and shut off the heat.
- Slice your bread lengthwise. Place the steaks on the bread and add the onions on top. Cover with the potato sticks (then the optional shredded lettuce and the sliced tomato). Place on the top of the bread and cut into two 8 inch sandwiches. Cut each one of the sandwiches on the diagonal and serve.
